Hi everyone,
hopefully the wait for a host family wasn't very long.
In fact, on January 19th I received my PLACEMENT!
Let's start from the beginning...
At exactly 12:32 a.m. I received a messages from a woman of my organisation that says (in Italian), 'Hi Mavi! Could you please call me when you come back from school? I need something. Thanks'. When I read that message, I was a bit anxious because I thought that some documents were missing.
When I came home from school, I immediately called her, but she told me that she needed the computer and in that moment she didn't have it. So she asked me to call her after lunch.😕
When I was eating I wasn't anxious anymore because I thought that I had done everything and it wasn't possible that something was missing or wasn't correct. For these reasons, the thought that the placement may had arrived, started to fill my mind, but I didn't want to have many aspectations, so I kept eating and relaxing.
At exactly 14:23 a.m. the woman called me and she started to ask me questions like 'Do you know where Barack Obama was born?', but I didn't. Then she told me, 'He comes from Illinois which is written with the 'S' but you have to say it right not pronouncing the 'S' because... you are going to Illinois!!!'
I literally didn't know what to say, I had no words because of the excitement!😍
I think I made some strange cry and I said 'Oh my gosh!'. I really couldn't believe it.
Then she asked me if there were someone with me and I said that my mum was downstairs. As she suggested me, I went finding my mum and I told her that I had received the placement.
After that, the woman gave us some information about the host family and the place where they had their house. She told us that I was the first one that had received the placement and that she really liked the letter that the host family had written for me.
As soon as the call ended, she sent us every information about the host family, the school, the place, the house and some other things. During the afternoon I searched everything on Internet (thanks to the people who have invented Internet for the second time). I 'saw' the school, the city, the state, the house and I saved everything on my computer.
At exaclty 10:17 p.m. I sent an e-mail to my family to contact them and to thank them for choosing me and hosting me for 10 months.
After about half an hour they sent me their phone numbers to talk more easily with me.
Hopefully, the day after wasn't a tough day at school!😁
I think this was one of those days that I will never forget!😊
