at the beginning of December I finished the application, I signed all the first documents and I sent everything to my organisation.
And after that? What should I have done?
They told me that I had only to wait for my placement and that I didn't have to do anything more because 'The placement can arrive in January as well as in July' my organisation said.
Anyway, I had just started thinking about it, so I couldn't just wait and do nothing. For this reason, I started to watch YouTube videos and reading blogs of past exchange students (thanks to the people who invented the social medias and Internet).
I think they really helped me because, after those videos and blogs, I had some more information about the life of an exchange student and his/her feelings.
Anyway, you mustn't forget that every experience is different and every exchange student is different. No one has everything he/she wanted to have, in fact the exchange students have to be able to adapt theirselves and go through the bad moments.
My advice is: Don't get overly hopeful, because if your aspectations don't come true you will be very upset. In fact, before getting the placement, I hadn't searched any information about the states of America, so that I didn't have my favourite states and states that I didn't like at all.
